I do 10 mins of controlled breathing thru nose and exhaling with pursed lips and 10 lb weight at the base of my chest. This has been one of the best exercises for me. I learned it at Therapy; also I have continued my Therapy program 3 days a week....20 mins- bicycle, then tread mill and upper chest/arms machine...Also my meds are [[treatment:Symbicort:54b5b0f408c929ed[[phone:16000434]] 2:]] puffs a.m & p.m., & Spirevia mist inhaler 1x a day lunch time....I am pleased with my med and actually hope they don't change them for any unknown reason :( I do tire easy and shopping is a big challenge and I stay away from the Mall, too much!! Have a good day and Breathe easy...exercise is the best...

I was told to take deep breathe through my nose and slowly exhale through perched lips. I do this all during the day when I am sitting around and always have to take many deep breathes when I have been up doing something lie mopping cleaning and even when I walk out to my car to go somewhere I have to sit there and take several deeps breathes before I can even leave the garage! In the shower I have to have to room very cold and have to stand and catch my breath when I am washing my hair and bathing! I dread showering but have the same effect if I bath in tub. Everything I do gets me SOB but I always do the deep breathing routine. Try it and I hope it helps!

I was told that blowing up balloons was an excellent way to strengthen your lungs. Won't hurt to try it.
