You need to get back to your pulmo and ask for a referral to Pulmonary Rehab. You need to learn proper breathing techniques, and I'd suggest something for anxiety, not to mention seeing a good therapist who can help you develop techniques so you can manage you anxiety. Emphysema doesn't entitle you to any benefits specifically, though you might be eligible for some available to anyone depending on your age.

Since you don't live in the states, I have no idea what benefits you may be able to get. Surely there is a government or medical office you can call. Please don't just sit around and wait to die. Just getting outside to sit on your steps or porch can lighten your spirit. It is possible to outlive your expiration date. I am almost a year past mine. My lung function was last measured in January at 19% and I am not close to dead, nor am I waiting around for it. I continue to be "too healthy" to put on the transplant list. I had a friend tell me today, that I look better than I have for about 8 years. I know I am far stronger now than I was before I stayed at the hospital resort (October 2012). I tried to get through the pearly gates three times, but they wouldn't let me in. Just in case they won't let you in, you need a "plan B." Some goals or something you want to be able to do again. Just keep going day by day to get to the goal. Then move on to the next one. My transplant doc has another patient who has only 15% FIV. He straps on his oxygen tanks and continues to rock climb. He, too, is deemed "too healthy" to be on the transplant list. We have waaaaaaay more lung capacity than we need to sustain a good life. Please try and tap into yours.
