This usually happens first thing in the morning when I go to the bathroom. And once it happened all day I went to my therapy barely made it through then I went to the doctors office and my daughter had a nurse come outside and she called an ambulance then it was over and was hospitalized for three days still not a good answer from another doctor that worked in the hospital said maybe it was a light case of pneumonia but I don't think so has this happened to anyone else
It's called an exacerbation, when it happens just try to keep as calm as you can. I know it's really hard to do that, but if you can it does help. Hope it's useful, please take careπ xxx
You really need to talk with a good pulmonologist to get some answers. You also need to think about what happened the day before you woke up having trouble breathing. Usually exacerbations don't come completely out of the blue with no warning unless you're having some sort of anaphylactic reaction to something. Anxiety attacks come out of the blue, but I would have thought your therapist would have recognized that. Do you see a pulmonologist? If not, I would get a referral to one ASAP and get a full blown Pulmonary Function Test to get a definite diagnosis. You also don't say what meds you're taking for COPD. Find a pulmonologist and get a good diagnosis and a treatment plan that includes what you are to do when you have trouble breathing.
Good advice, its always best to check everything possible, they deffinately don't come out of theblue. Go get some medical advice please

Hi I used to do the same they determined I had irregular heartbeat Atrial Fibillation. I used to think it was my asthma and try to use my inhalers but couldn't have the energy to breath in or out it was horrifying and very scary.I had to have a pacemaker to help me it's been 6yrs.I still have the problem with my breathing if I walk more then 10-15 ft. then I start gasping for air. Hope your having a good day today .
