my dr. wants to switch my advair to breo.Anyone use it?
Madonna, if you take Spiriva and Serevent, you're missing the inhaled corticosteroid that the Breo contains. If what you're taking works well for you, great. Just know that you're comparing apples and oranges here with regard to the meds themselves.
Taking Spiriva and Serevent means that you're getting an anticholinergic and a Long Acting Beta Agonist (LABA). If you were to take Spiriva and Breo, you'd get the anticholinergic with Spiriva and both a LABA and an inhaled corticosteroid in the Breo.
What works for you is another topic altogether, and if what you're taking works for you don't rock the boat! If you can get along without the inhaled steroid, all the better for you.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member, I did post another message but not sure where it went. My doctor said Spiriva and Seravant, which I use, was as good as the Breo, so could see no reason to change. The two inhalers I use work pretty good for me. Good luck if you decide to use Breo.
I used it ,but it didn't help
I feel better with the Breo over the Advair!! Doctor switched me about a six months ago and I notice the difference
@A MyCOPDTeam Member, thank you for the information Jean. I see my doctor on the 23rd, will talk to him about Breo.
