There are two pneumonia vaccines available now, both targeting different strains. Generally you would get each one juts once, though sometimes docs will give a second one if you got your first before 65.

The pneumonia vaccine is only need once, and possibly twice, during your lifetime. Please, be aware this vaccine if specifically for streptococcal pneumonia only. Streptococcal pneumonia can be deadly. You can still possibly get Streptococcal pneumonia even after having received the vaccine but it will be a milder form and not deadly.

I did not answer that right. It is recommended that you get 2 pneumonia shots. 5 to 10 years apart. And 1 of the new pvc13.

I'm going to get mine and I presume it's an annual shot. (Barb)
