That's a fairly common side effect of prednisone. I could deal with the not sleeping, but the really crazy dreams are worse for me. Scary stuff! That's why pred is the med we love to hate. It does make our breathing better, but some of the side effects are pretty brutal.

i was also told by a specalist that when you don't get enough oxygen in your bloodstream you have trouble sleeping and remembering need to remember all of our major organs have to work so hard because of the lack of oxygen in our bloodstream

Predisone is really good for our breathing however; the side effects of this steroid is awful. It made me feel like I was on fire inside out. I burn up when I take this and talk about sweating. Its terrible and it make me feel really shaky from inside out. It does help with your lungs and breathing, but definitely you do not want to stay on this no longer than what is prescribed for you. Yes, it causes you not to be able to sleep sometimes or when you do sleep, the terrible dreams and you literally act out from them. Meaning I destroyed my Cpap Machine, when I was dreaming of wolves attacking me.
