Hi Patsy,
In response to your question Does any body have a problems with the bottoms of their lings being diminished.
Yes for me it is a problem as I had a lobectomy on my lower left side of my lungs which one of the larger lobes which I had to have removed in 1966as a result of TB that lobe was not replaced with anything and is in essence a vacant space that has fluids from the now distended left lobes which were above the lobe that was removed leaving the vacant space in my chest cavity unfortunately as a result of this cavity I do get lung infections as it contains a soup of fluids and ideal for breeding infections. As a result I am permanently on an antibiotic called Colomycin which take through a Nebuliser morning and night and this has been the case for close on to 3 years, I also take another one called Erythromycin which is like a top up which I take 3 times a week but that is in tablet form in addition in case I do develop an infection, I hold another antibiotic called flufloxacillian as it targets one of the main elements of the infections which I normally get and if the infection is not improving I then have to go to see my GP who usually sends me to hospital and I end up on an intravenous drip with other powerful antibiotics the last time I was there they were having trouble dealing with the infection as I was unable to give them a sputum sample so they could not determine what the bug was in any scenario as a result I was in hospital for 14 days before they got it under control, I have to admit that there will come a time when I end up being immune to the antibiotic's to the anti biotic' s thankfully it has not happened yet but will in time. I hope that I have answered your question regardless it is what my current situation in respect infections in my cavity where my former Lungs in the words
I am now going off to sleep and get some.
