Being Yourself Is More Than Enough

Posted on May 14, 2018

"After years of feeling like I need to be better, stronger, healthier, and in control, I now know I am enough." -Member of MyCOPDTeam

Members of MyCOPDTeam experience the burden of COPD physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Sometimes we strive to appear healthier than we are to avoid the stigma of COPD. Other times, we experience relief and support from others who've been in our shoes.

"I'm getting out of the rat race. I'm not hiding my struggles anymore. If I'm tired, I'm going to rest. Hearing from others with COPD has taught me that I have to prioritize ME." -Member of MyCOPDTeam

Here are recent conversations from members on MyCOPDTeam:

"Don't worry about discussing your problems here that what this site is for! People who have similar issues & can understand what you are going through! I love this site & the people on it! It lets you be you! It makes people feel better to vent!"

"I've finally found a support person who understands where I'm at with my COPD because her husband has it too."

"The secret is to not overdo the strenuous stuff. Give your body time to recover your breath.COPD, as we know, is an inconvenient disease but it can be managed by observing the basics."

Have you found yourself striving to appear as though you have it all together? Have you discovered ways to surround yourself with others who make you feel that you are more than enough? Share what you've learned in the comments below or directly on MyCOPDTeam.com.
