I was told by a nurse to run - Ha Ha
After giving up smoking + eating my cigs for a while - Im ready for the next challenge
I know I need to get back in shape so invested in a treadmill
My thinking is slowly building up - So im doing 20mins a day everyday (4.5 Speed - 4 Incline)
Trouble is my nose runs at a rate of knots other than this my breathing is getting easier
Any tips
Your nurse's advice is pretty good, actually, and it looks as though you've taken her up on it, at least to some extent. Because the point of exercise for COPDis to build stamina and endurance, I'd suggest that you slow down your speed, and go for longer time; at least 30 minutes and preferably 45 minutes. You can maintain the incline if you want, but incline bursts throughout the exercise will help you build both strength and stamina. You should also be working with weights: building upper, lower and core muscle groups. You should be working each group at least 30 minutes a week.
You could block your nose with cotton wool to stop it running lol and breath through your mouth hope it helps
I find my nose also runs when on the treadmill
Thank You Jean
