Not a doctor but, the cause could be stress and or anxiety. Once you can get a handle on and control those two things you will probably be able to deal with this problem. One thing to if you have ever been to pulmonary rehab is to fall back on some the exercises they go through. Such as the pursed lips breathing, thinking positive thought and slowing down. Also if you can get the bad air of your lungs and breathe. After the episode is over go back over it in your mind and see for yourself what caused it and then you can determine maybe not how to prevent it but to at least make it tolerable. Bottom line accidents do happen, this is a disease and we cannot always control what happens with our bodies. You can always log on here because we do understand what is going on. Breathe easy.
I try and always use rest room ,,before leaving ,,my problem is to remember!
I can sure appreciate your delemma walking back to car ,,already you SOB then tasseling for key or whatever,,,,then OMG gotta pea! Just stop,, lean on car try catch breath,,pierched lips of coarse,, then proceed slowly me @A MyCOPDTeam Member 🍀🏁😳
I asked my pulmonary dr. that yesterday. He told me what @happycamper said. I can feel it coming on if I get in a hurry, crossing a street, My dr. said there are meds to help that if you cannot manage it yourself. Hope this helps. I am not the only one that has this problem. Several of my friends do also. Breathe well.
