Sleeping At Night!
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello everyone!
I would like to ask if anyone has trouble sleeping, because I do. I don't know if it is the albutrol although I onlu use once a day before bedtime, or is it just me thinking too much about my emphesyma and what the futur holds and adjusting to the new reality. Should I ask my doc for some sleep pills, is anyone using them?

Thanks to all
Have a wonderful day everyone

Use your albuterol BEFORE you exercise, and you will probably be able to get through the exercise with little trouble even when you're done. Trelegy is a MAINTENANCE medication, and designed to work over time and keep you going over 24 hours. Unless you take it as prescribed every day, you're not gong to get the benefit of it. I would ask for an overnight oximetry test to see if you need O2 at night. That could also account for waking up.

Youssef. hope you can rest your mind some this evening.
If you are stuffed up at night and not breathing well Carol's suggestion of a sinus rinse is a good one.
If that fails I use an over the counter decongestant Claritin D 12hour.I find it lasts me a full day and the nasal congestion disappears along with a lot of the coughing associated with it.
Just something to ponder for later.

Hi Anna! I do have Melatonin, I used to take one an hour before sleep, to be honest it did not do much for me, I took many things that are OVT. My problem was a combo of stree, worry and Albutrol. I stopped taking albutrol before sleep and I came to terms with myself and that brought some relief with the exercise, so now I'm able to get some sleep. Like all of us here, it was very hard to swallow the fact that this is the new reality, but you know what! If this is it then I'm going to do my best to enjoy whatever I can however I can and not think about any down fall. No surrender!

I hope you get some sound sleep my dear!
Be well
