Thank you for your reply, much appreciated. This advert was in the Sun newspaper on 30th September full page showing the recomdations as stated. Maybe this should be passed to them.

This device purports to do two things: by increasing resistance, it makes both the inspiratory and expiratory muscles work harder and therefore get stronger; and by oscillating the airways, making it easier to cough up the mucous dislodged. There are separate devices that do basically the same things available, and I believe that buying both devices instead of this one would probably be a bit less expensive. I didn't read the ad as the British Lung Association backing this group; I read it that the group was part of an alliance (lots of groups) that donated to the BLA. My guess is that the BLA would be appalled at your interpretation that they are backing this device.

That said, devices that do these two things do work. Whether this one actually works better than what's already available and would work for you, could only be determined by buying and using it. If you have difficulty inhaling your medication or coughing up mucous, it might work really well, and you have the added plus that one device does two things.
