Alternative To Symbicort

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I want to get off of Symbicort because of the bruises and thin skin that it causes. Is there a non-steroidal medicine that works well?

You can try any of the Long Acting Beta Agonists: Serevent, Brovana, Perforomist, Arcapta or Striverdi.. You could also try any of the LABA/LAMA combinations to see if they might work better for you: Anoro, Stiolto, Bevespi or Utibron. You may find that you really need the ICS in order to really continue to breathe well. Talk with your pulmonologist.

If you are on a blood thinner this may also do this. I am on Eliquis, and that is where mine comes from. There are other blood thinner like Warfarin, and they all do the same thing. Everytime I get an IV, I am unbelievably bruised. Also aging causes the skin to thin badly. So it doesn't have to be a med.
