Hi I have not used the cpap or bipap machine but I am on the Triology machine. The Triology works as a home ventilator. It regulates your breathing mechanism and because I have severe apnea, it helps me not to stop breathing so frequently in my sleep. It also has a humidifier device that I connect to it. At first after using it I was really short of breath upon coming off in the morning. But I'm better and I'm breathing and feeling better all day. I hope this info is helpful. Breatheasy my friend!

Actually, the C-pap only provides continuous pressure during the inhale, even though it may feel like it's blowing all the time. The bi-pap and the trilogy provide continuous pressure for both the inhale and the exhale. The trilogy can be calibrated more finely than a bi-pap. Bi-pap and Trilogy are used when more control over breathing is required.

Cpap blows all the time the trilogy blows only when you inhale. But be aware the trilogy is a lot more expensive mine after Medicare and my ins is still $120 a month, I tried to get my doc to put me on the cpap but its not his money so he said no.

Thank you for your answer.
I seem to be so short of breath when I come off the Triology. The shortness of breath is frightening and makes me not want to use is. Any suggestions?

You just need to take a moment to adjust. All night the machine is controling your breathing, when you come off it in the morning your body has the take over the regulating of your lung to you to controll it. And for all the people commenting on this machine, they should read up on it. It is a very usefull machine. The headaches the people get is alot of time is from the CO not being removed correctly when you sleep. C Pap and B pap don't do it, ask you DR. They are expensive but I just know about mine and it is covered completely. Your Dr will give them a prescription and set it up with the provider. They bring it to your home, show you how to use it. Keeping your breathing consistent will stop all the waking up during the night. Yes the mask is hard to get to fit, but they will help you find the right one. To me wearing that mask is worth it to wake up refreshed in the morning with no headache.
Ask you Dr. It's a breathing aid that takes some time to get use to BUT well worth a good night's SLEEP.
TRY IT YOU WILL LIKE IT!
