Does Or Has Anyone Used The SeQual Eclipse 5 Concentrator Before?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’m considering buying the SeQual eclipse 5 to use for vacations. I use O2 24/7 and I need a ventilator at night so my O2 must be continuous flow. Pulse works well as long as there’s nothing strenuous going on, but if I’m huffing it for a longer time my O2 drops with pulse. So any hiking requires continuous flow. In any case, does anyone have any experience with this machine?

Yes i have the same one and I use it in the car while driving and if i have to walk a distance from parking lot to store until i can get a cart and pulse is good for me actually once in store pushing cart dont need it,its just when i load groceries or anything physical. The pulmonologist says for copd o2 levels beteen 88-92.any higher the lungs cannot catch up and you could retain co2.

Yes you obviously need contiuous flow, the only one I know of is Phillips simply go,but it only gives 2lpm contiuous and only lasts about an hour. You may have to drag a tank around to get more contiuous flow, you can get the carbon tanks which are much lighter.

It’s just that the 3 LPM will handle all that I need now and into the near future, God willing. I don’t have any bottles, never did. Started with the Inogen portable and home unit. You did get me thinking that I should try the Inogen at it’s highest pulse dose on a walk and see how that works for me. I’ve only put it to setting 3 for my outside walks and have to rest a lot more often than I’d like. So before I buy I’ll try the higher setting first. Thanks for your input Ken.

It's significantly larger than the really portable units, although it does come with a cart. I'm not sure you could go hiking with it, as it would require a pretty smooth surface for the cart. I'm also not sure what you're calling a ventilator, but one thing you should definitely check before you spend any money is whether you could hook up your ventilator to it.

We’re driving to Texas so I can easily plug my Inogen G3 into the car and on 2 pulse it’s good for me the whole way. When I leave the car for restaurants or hotels or potty stops I just move the setting from2 to 3 and I’m fine. It’s only when I want to walk for longer periods of time that the pulse doesn’t work for me. However, a few days ago(our last sunny day) I bumped up the Inogen to 4 pulse and walked comfortable for 30 mins and my oxygen dropped no lower than 93. But the battery on setting 4 lasts only for an hour. I’m afraid I may have to pull a little red wagon full of batteries if I wanted to go off into the woods for a day hike.
