It's not just for severe COPD. Anoro is a combination med: it contains both a Long Acting Muscarinic Agent (LAMA) and a Long Acting Beta Agonist (LABA). These two meds, either separately or in the combined form are typically the first meds prescribed for someone newly diagnosed. It might not be prescribed for someone who was diagnosed in the mild stage, but would likely be prescribed for someone in the moderate, severe or very severe stages of the disease. The next med to add would be an Inhaled Corticosteroid (ICS). These are often combined with a LABA and there are new formulations that include LABA, LAMA and ICS, like Trelegy.
Typical LAMA prescribed separately could include Spiriva, Tudorza, Incruse, Seebri or Lonhala.
Typical LABAs could include Advair, Symbicort, Dulera and Breo.
Typical combination LAMA/LABA could include Stiolto, Anoro, Bevespi and Ultibron.
No it is not...I think it depends on your Doc...they all prescribe different meds.
I don't think so.
