I am 74 with severe COPD for last 5 years. Quality of days differs, but on the frequent bad ones I often think of ways to end the misery. Finding a "peaceful exit" or death with dignity is not easy. Maybe society will progress to provide more final exit assistance...but don't hold your breath waiting. Maybe science will come up with new and better treatments such as lung valves, stem cells, etc....but again, at our age, don't hold your breath. We all have a death sentence, from COPD or whatever. I no longer believe in Christian Heaven or Hell, nor does the idea of Karma and Reincarnation make complete sense. Those of us who share your disease send you our compassion and understanding. Life is ultimately a magical mystery and wonder. Peace and love to you.
