Thanks Jean.The first time it happened I thought I was dying.It was the scariest experience Iv ever had.I went to Hosp and they told me what had happened .

It's not unusual at all. I experienced it years ago (long before I knew I had COPD, although that was probably when my COPD really began) when I had pneumonia and if I get something that causes me to cough a lot for a day or so, it can come back with a vengeance. For months after the pneumonia, it would happen if I laughed hard, too, and sometimes I'd get that muscle spasm for no reason at all.
