At night last few days when laying down and getting up I get really SOB. Not as bad laying down. But getting up I grab my inhaler and it takes awhile to catch my breath. Any help.
I make sure Im lying on my side and gradually slide my legs out of bed and then slowly raise myself up do it very slowly
I have a hard time getting comfortable to sleep. Takes more energy to push lungs "up" as you breath. Sounds silly but thats how it feels. Try sleeping at an angle on a couple pillows so you are not flat. Helps me some. Get up easy, sit a minute, let youself get used to upright position. You will figure out what works best for you. Bless you.
It happens to me i just take my time no reason to rush. You also must realize is its part of copd not sure if you do any activeitys but it does help
Me too
Try to relax, and settle down before you use the inhaler. Then gently empty your lungs and breath in your inhaler slowly. If it is a rescue inhaler, you can more than likely safely have another shot if you feel you didn't get a good dose. It will say ''as needed''.
If it is an aerosol type, a ''spacer'' chamber really helps.
A dry powder type should also be used gently.
I'm not sure why sob happens when lying down, but it's easier when you breathe in first and breathe out during the effort. Our core muscles are involved in keeping our balance and need oxygen, while our diaphragms are restricted when bending at the waist.
I guess we could try falling into bed ....😊🍀
