ThereseGyure Good morning! I had Dr appt Tues, with pulmonologist. One of my biggest concerns is Dr-patient communication, or lack thereof. Dr have book smarts, but we live with it. What works for one does not always work for all. My hope is to be heard. Through daily living, we are finding how much exercise we can do, info on diet, meds and how important human contact is. I am so very thankful for this group!

I bought an Air-Physio, but I don’t like it. I prefer doing the short fast coughs to get mucous up. And Mucinex or Robitussin DM works well. I get tickles in my throat from allergies. The Air-Physio says very clearly to NOT breathe hard in it.....but I did, not thinking I was exhaling so hard! My issue, not its!! I don’t know if this is acceptable, but I will send it to someone who can use it. I used it 4 times. It just washes up, real easy. It is just sitting, not being used.

Talk with your pulmonologist or your infectious disease specialist. Unless you're having difficulty coughing mucous up and out, you don't need to use such a device. You can google them to see what they look like and how they're used.

I couldn’t move ball bearing either. There is a trick I learned in pulmonary rehab.....if you do short, fast exhales, it actually loosens mucous & then you can spit it out. I do about 3 and wait a while.....you can feel when you need to do it again. Hope this helps!
