We're you ever affected by this problem. Got diagnosed with anxiety now hyperinflation what next.
Easy breathing
Hyperinflation is very common in people with COPD and sometimes occurs in people who don't have COPD. It simply means that the lungs are enlarged. For people with COPD, that is a direct result of the disease. There's nothing you can do about it. Learning proper breathing techniques help make the most of the "good" space you have. It sounds like you would like more information about COPD, so I suggest you go to www.copdfoundation.org and read everything they have posted under the "learn More" tab at the top of the page. There's a lot of information that will help you understand what might be next.
Hi Mohns. It took a few days but Google just sent me this article which was updated recently:

In addition to the explanations here, my Doc reminds me that a more forceful exhale is always helpful for deflating the lungs. Just like our breathing tests done from time to time.
You might also ask about the medication Theophylline. It helps strengthen the diaphragm muscles for better breathing control and increased bronchodilation of the airways. The Flutter breathing devices may also help reduce inflation pressures for more release of each inhaled air volume.
Guard you health.
