I have left a message as my primary care and should hear from them today. I let them know that I am more short of breath using the Anora ellipta. Is it okay to stop and just go back to the Advair? I was using a combination of Advair and Spiriva but for some reason I don't think the Spiriva helped me much.
Call the pulmo's office and ask your question. Unless you haven't seen them ever, you should get an answer through the nurse or RT who takes the call for them. If you have to call your primary care doc, get them to extend your prescription for Advair. There shouldn't be any reason not to, and that will get you through October when you can see a pulmo. If your breathing is taking a hit, don't wait.
If your primary care doc made the prescription change, that's fine; if not then you want to talk with the prescribing doc, especially if it's your pulmonologist. Either way, you probably need to find a pulmonologist who understands and is current with medications for COPD. Advair might be fine, but there are other meds that might work better for you. A pulmonologist will have a much better idea than your PCP about appropriate medications. If you don't think Spiriva did anything for you, don't take it and see how you feel in a month. By that time the LAMA in Anoro will be out of your system completely (spiriva is also a LAMA) so you'll have an idea of whether either of them worked or not.
Thank you Jean, unfortunately I cannot see a pulmonologist till October as they are all booked solid. But thank you for your advice
