Vitamin D Source - Which One Is It?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question šŸ’

All reading I have found says that VitaminD is NOT made by the body and MUST be taken in by Dietary and/or outside supplements. My Doc will not budge on recommending Statins when he sees my LDL numbers. The plot just thickened:

The article shown is the reason there's so much research going on now to see if simvastatins actually make a difference in people with COPD and if so, with what geno and phenotypes. I suspect it will work for some folks and not for others; we just have to figure out which ones and how you identify them.

I won't take the Statins for they mess with my body too much. I change my eating and get more sun. Then when I get rechecked the doc see that my LDL numbers get better. P.S. everyone's body is different, do what works for you, take your doctor's advice, and if it doesn't work for you let them know. My doctors were having a fit that I wouldn't take everything they prescribed to me. I told them, "I took your advice and it caused something else to happen I didn't like, and unless there is something else that won't cause a side effect then, we're done here. I have changed doctors at times as some of them are all in with the big pharma and just push the drugs. That is also why I signed up to be a Ginni pig at the University for lung research with lung testing ad medication trials. I was on the Trelegy testing and that bettered my breathing and everyone else's that they ended the study early to get it out on the market. My lung doctor at the time wouldn't change the lung meds he had me on (as after the study, you didn't get the medication you were tested on and had to return to the medications you were on). I changed to the lung doctors at the university and three of the doctors I got were all in with the study, so they came up with two medications that were in the Trelegy trial (as they had no idea which of the trial drugs I was given) and that got me through the next year until the drug was approved for the market. My lungs did suffer from having to change medications, but the Trelegy has me stable now, and as we all know, this COPD will never get better.

Vitamin D3 and vitamin D are the same thing. Take D3 if you need a supplement. If you're not getting outside then you should be taking it.šŸ˜
