I would love to hear if any of you have Chronic Fatigue and if you do anybody with suggestions as to how to stop this?!? I have a bit of energy in the morning but then I get so tired! It’s awful, I know it doesn’t help that I don’t sleep well. Open to any remedies!!
Have a good day!!
I think with less O2 in our bodies, we're bound to suffer fatigue earlier than most people. I know I just can't do as much physically as I used to. What helps me is to NOT succumb to the temptation to go back to bed after I've fed the cats, but to stay up, make breakfast, check the news online and then do physical therapy exercises. My PT said the other day that if you're moving, you don't experience pain, and that was an ah-ha moment for me, because it's true. And once I've done the exercises (with Oxygen), I feel able to start the day. I also have learned that I can't run around town doing errands the way I used to. There are no big convenience stores where I live, so it's several stops to get everything done. I now limit myself to three. If I can't get it all done in three, I move the least important to the next time I go into town. We have to learn to live with certain limitations, and try to do it in a spirit of "Hey, I can still do this!" even if it's less than before. Have a good day.
@Chronic Fatigue, don't mind sharing at all, it's .5 mg of clonazepam and I take it 2 or 3 times a day. It is habit forming but I don't care at 78 1/2 years old. Also stopped smoking 8 months ago and chew 5 or 6 pieces a day of the nicotine gum. Addicted to the nicotine but again, what the hell.
Thanks everybody!! I am sure every answer is right. I sure wish there was an easy answer!!
Have a good night!!
I think the issue is more that we spend so much energy breathing, we haven't got much left for anything else. However, exercising and doing the usual chores is important and as you've learned, the exercises can actually energize you for the remainder of the day.
I guess you could call it chronic fatigue but with me it's caused by cells not getting enough oxygen and carbon dioxide build up. My spO2 runs 97 to 98 but I'm always SOB and not on oxygen because it wouldn't help with the bronchitis. My body is like a battery, I can do so much and then it's drained. Anxiety meds help me to calm down and slow down the breathing.
