This Is Judy. Why Does My Nose Run When I Use The Oxygen 24/7? The Feeder Goes In And The Nose Never Stops Running.
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’m at the severe stage and would like, at least to be able to get the oxygen to my lungs. I can only hope that someone has an answer to my problem or at least some ideas as to what to do.
I thank you for reading my post.

TRY NAC 600mg will clear up all phlem and mucas problems, no adverse reactions to any meds, natural non essential amino acid that your body makes, however after age 45 you make significantly less and need to supplement. Lifeextension.com sells a pure 3rd party tested NAC for about 12 bucks. Onward and upward!

Hi Judy, Do you have a humidifier hooked up to your concentrator? That may be part of the issue. You can disconnect it if you find that you're "drowning." Not permanently, but just to allow yourself a little space. I would also call my 02 provider and I'm sure they can give you pertinent and accurate advice.

Thank you Steve for answering with an interesting reply. Brought the NAC 600mc on Internet and not quite sure if it’s safe enough for me to use. I take quite a few meds. for other health situations I deal with but just to be sure that this would help me is worth the ordering. I am at the end of any other medication my doctors can give me, so severe is severe. Been doing this for at least 15 years so am just maintaining now with hopes of not going any further. Some days it’s pretty hard to stay optimistic but have to just to get out of bed.
My husband takes care of me and is my main support. Without him I would have been gone a long time ago.
Again, thanks for the info and have a wonderful week.

I was told we’re out on oxygen because our blood needs it to keep everything else going. Our lungs can’t hold anymore anyway but it’s our blood that runs through our veins to hart brain kidneys body limbs etc . However I feel relief in my lungs when I put it back on🤷‍♀️

You can safely use NAC with any medication, I do have been in stage 4 for 6 years now.
I am stable now, with the help of many supplements and the doctors meds too. I would warn you if you cannot take any meds, with anything I recommend. I am not even close to a doctor, so please feel free to check first with yours, if you are out of your comfort zone. These are natural plant based ingredients that will do no harm.
The only warning I would give is if you are taking vitamin D3 ,and when taking it (D3) you must supplement with vitamin K2 subtype Mk7. (To keep calcium in your bones and out of your arteries.) YOU should NOT take K2 if you are on any blood thinners for high blood presure like coumarin(sp) or generic equivalent.
Capeach?
Vitamin C 1000 mg and Sambucol chewable tablets will not react with any known medications currently on the market.
Try these and if you find efficacy, I have many more helpful recommendations to ease your breathing problems and achieve some stability. The sooner you start on the NAC the better off you will be, takes approx two weeks to build up, I recommend one (600mg) in the morning and one at night to start. The vitamin C 1000 mg 2 X a day will completely cease all flare ups or exaserbations due to COPD, or greatly reduce their occurance. NAC and Vitamin C also reduce Inflammation, a source of diseases of the aging. Also lowers your CRP.
