Is There A Co2 Monitor Device? In Many Ambulances Have Had Personel Tell Me My Oxygen Stats Are
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

fine why am i struggling to breathe? Other than the painful dreaded ABG, is there a electronic device similar to a pulseox to monitor Co2? Why not? I think you coud make a buck or two, just sayin'.
Thanks

Of course IT is.
That is what that big computer on top of our shoulders does for us all the time! Mostly without fail πŸ˜‰. But we don't get to live in a Vacuum or a petri dish. For some with these Respiratory conditions, there is such thing as TOO Little CO2 also. It's a FINE balance indeed!

@A MyCOPDTeam Member - I watch a bit too much TV as well. Even moreso these YouTube videos:

Here is one explaining why no such CO2 meter exists. Air exchange is a dynamic process. The ABG test is just a snapshot in time.

You will see here that the CO 2 number is hardly discussed. You should already know the CO2 absorbs (and dissipates) more quickly than OXygen anyway!. Instead the effects of Air pressure and Hydration levels are the KEY factors in Oxygen exchange (breathing) process. (Look how WATER vapor aka humidity adds much to this equation). THIS is what I hang my hat on Every Day. Be well.

Don’t have one but sounds like a good idea.

Nothing that we can use for our breathing. The CO2 readings is a proportion of O2 as well. Our blood takes care of all of that based on how hydrated we are. πŸ€”

There are portable ones for reading air quality in a room, which can be helpful for poorly ventilated indoor settings. The ones for Our use are mostly attached to the end of the beeping machine in the hospital or for an internal exam (lung or colon). The next cheapest thing would be to pay the ambulance dude to follow you around on a bad day. 🀬

I have a little device that records oxygen levels that I occasionally sleep wearing. Gives you a read out recorded on an app second by second all nite. Also measured and tracks pulse same way. I was curious to see if the docs oxygen prescription of 2 liters at nite was enough to keep my SATs above 88% all nite. He was accurate
