I'd suggest you talk further with the surgeon and ask to speak with patients who've had the surgery, both people who had positive results and those for whom the results weren't positive (valves removed because they weren't successful, or pneumonia and/or pnemothorax as complications). Then you'll have a better idea of your surgeon's record and whether you want to be part of it.
