Asking for my dad as he’s currently on spiriva and the doctors have now put him on ellipta but dosnt want to change over due to side effects
@A MyCOPDTeam Member. You keep forgetting that the BREO Elipta product has two ingredients in it - particularly a Bronchodilator and the Steroid-type medicines. But for sake of clarity, your summary answer is still correct. Remember, Elipta is just the trademark name for the inhaler design and dispenser method.
You're right, I left out the combination in Breo.......
It depends on which Ellipta you're taking; Incruse is a long acting muscarinic agent (LAMA); Anoro is a combination LAMA and long acting beta agonist (LABA), Arnuity is an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and Breo, a LABA. As Spiriva is a LAMA, it should not be taken with Incruse or Anoro, because you would be taking two of the same class of med. Typically that's not a good idea, but there might be circumstances where someone would prescribe it. If I were prescribed them, I'd be asking a lot of questions. If he's being prescribed Arnuity, or Breo with Spiriva, that would be fine.
