When I'm having a flairup and it last for more than 19 days, I contact my pulmonary doctor for steroid prescription. That usually takes care of it after about 5 days.

Keep your eye on color of phlegm Good indicator if something going south

If the inhaler heps, use it. If the congestion doesn't begin to go away on its own, see a doc.
