@A MyCOPDTeam Member Burke.. Hi Elizabeth, My pulse is always running high even in my late 20….like 115 ,125 so I can imagine Wht it is when I exercise! I am on medication for it now… It would be best for you to get appointment with a cardiologist just to make sure all is ok… hugs Deb:)

Figure out your base rate for various times of the day and various activities. When you first wake up before getting out of bed. After dressing. Standing for a while doing non stressful, easy activities., eg.washing dishes. simple cooking. Doing more demanding jobs, eg. vacuuming, laundry, picking up. Walking, bending using your arms. Sitting still reading, watching TV, visiting. Do this for a number of days and get base rates. When your heart rate increases, sit, breath deeply, don't move about, don't use your arms, determine how long it takes for your pulse to decrease. Make note of your recovery time. Ask your pulmonologist how long it should take you to recover based on what level your COPD is at, what you were doing and how long you were doing it. The longer you were pushing yourself, the longer it might take you to recover. Get in tune with your unique body, your Individual strengths and weaknesses, etc. so you will be able to identify if something might be wrong. If you are worried, call your doctor's office and ask. Giving them as much information as you can should allow them to give you information individualized to you and not simply a generic person. Good luck to you. Stress alone can increase your pulse and affect your breathing. My wish for you is to have a contented day and a contented tomorrow.

Yes it does
I can’t do anything like I used to
Unless I’m on my oxygen and that only helps me for so long
I work a little and then take a rest
