If you test positive for Alpha-1, you need to see a pulmonologist who is familiar with the variation of Alpha-1; not all are. Depending on your Alpha-1 diagnosis, you may have to have a weekly infusion or some other treatment that garden variety COPD doesn't need. Otherwise the inhalers and other treatments for COPD are pretty much the same, depending on your need for them.
