Well you're doing good. I started out with that prescription when I was first diagnosed 8 years ago. Now I also use it ambulatory also.
Welcome to the group. You will feel and breathe better in the mornings. Try to not roll or toss and turn in bed. I got tied up a couple times. That is bad when you have to get up to pee. Lol.

Do you need to wear oxygen during sleep but only as needed during the day?
Using oxygen therapy during sleep is common for people with COPD. Sleep can affect breathing patterns, and your oxygen levels may drop more at night than during waking hours. This is why your doctor may prescribe nighttime oxygen even if you don't always need it during the day.
Many MyCOPDTeam members use oxygen this way. Some find that using oxygen during sleep helps them rest better and wake up feeling more refreshed. Others combine it with additional breathing support like CPAP machines if they also have sleep apnea.
Here are some tips for nighttime oxygen use:
- Position your cannula comfortably to avoid it getting tangled while you sleep
- Keep your oxygen equipment easily accessible by your bed
- Consider using a humidifier attachment if nasal dryness becomes an issue
- Elevate your head with pillows if lying flat makes breathing harder
If you're having trouble sleeping even with oxygen, or if you feel tired despite using it at night, it's worth discussing with your healthcare provider. They can check if your oxygen settings are appropriate or if something else might be affecting your sleep quality.
