I do feel a slight feeling in the middle of my chest sometimes but no burning. When I'm having a flare up/exascerbation it feels like part of my brain is very heated. And I have to get to a fan or be fanned and try to remain calm because it does cause me high anxiety. If you're having these burning sensations quite often you should definitely go to er and speak to your pulmonologist. Hope it's gotten better

That burning, tight feeling in the chest is something many people with COPD experience. It happens because the airways become inflamed and air doesn't move in and out of the lungs the way it should.
Here are some things to keep in mind:
- New or worsening chest tightness can be a sign that COPD is progressing or that a flare-up is happening
- Burning sensations can be linked to airway inflammation, which is common with COPD
- If the tightness comes on suddenly or feels worse than usual, it's important to contact a doctor or go to the ER right away In the meantime, pursed-lip breathing can help slow breathing down and ease the feeling of tightness. Try to stay as calm as possible, as anxiety can make breathing feel even harder.
Don't try to push through it alone — reaching out to a healthcare provider about this symptom is really important, especially if it's new or getting worse. They can help figure out what's going on and adjust treatment if needed.
