Has anyone tried or on Ultibro breezhaler?

1 month ago my doctor switched me to Ultibro, immediately I had relief in my chest and was able to breathe deeper than I had in a long time. I had been on Spiriva, Advair, and Ventolin for a couple of years, some days it was hard to breath.
I am also taking some chinese medicine for lung disease, and my doctor said that the Ultibro will work well with it. Since taking Ultibro I have not used my Ventolin at all.
I would just like to know if anyone else has used Ultibro… read more

How often should I see a consultant?

I was born Asthmatic in 1948 by 1955 I had bronchiectasis. I am within days of my 70th birthday but I have had a poor year, on two separate occasions I have needed two sets of antibiotics as well as steroids.
I have an annual Lung Function test with my Practice Nurse but can't remember the last time I saw a Consultant or had an x-ray. I do know it was before 2002. I don't feel as 'right' as I usually am, much more short of breath with frequent nasty pointless coughing fits… read more

NE Lung Force Expo

On October 23, I was able to participate in the Nebraska Lung Force Expo in Omaha. Of particular interest to patients were two presentations, the first by Dr. Jenna Yentes, Ph.D. and the second by Dr. Bryan Krajicek.
Dr. Yentes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomechanics with a specific interest in COPD. She has worked with Dr. Steve Rennard who has long been a champion of people with COPD and one of the stalwarts of the COPD Foundation. Her focus in this talk was to talk… read more

oxygen vs pulse

I have a concentrator at home that I use at 4L when doing my housework, laundry, etc. I have also been using as I wake up in the am as get ready for work ... find it was easier to get myself ready without dealing with out of breaths. Now the oxygen guy dropped off a PULSE tank - about 12-15" high. I asked for a smaller one and he did bring me a pretty small one. My question is: I was never informed the difference from oxygen vs pulse. Since I got the PULSE tank, was using it to get to my car in… read more
