I didn't know it had rained, but I was outside no more than a couple of minutes and I got hit hard with the type of nausea that you can't move. I weigh less than I ever have, I'm 5'3, and 2 months ago I weighed 95 lbs. I went back to the dr on Friday and I have put on 9 lbs. And I worked very hard to do that. But last night on… read more

Has Anyone Ever Heard Of Or Experienced (Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency)

Has Anyone Ever Heard Of Or Experienced (Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency)

So he is recommending that I take this infusion (shot) once a week for the rest of my life. The name of the infusion is (Prolastin), has anyone… read more

Prolastin - Who Is Getting This Treatment?

I am Alpha-1 ZZ diagnosed and would like to know if anyone else has been prescribed augmentation therapy once a week. If so, how long have you been doing this,
and have you gotten positive results? Any negative side effects?

Interested In Alpha 1 Test?

Interested In Alpha 1 Test?

Not really a Question..But in researching the Alpha 1 issue I learned about this site and thought I would share if any of you want to participate in this study and find out if you have or do not have a deficiency?

http://www.alpha1.org/Newly-Diagnosed/Learning-...

The test is free but does involve becoming part of a study about Alpha 1

It also has paid studies.Knowledge is meant to be shared.

I would like to know if you are getting Prolastin treatments. Do you have to pay anything for them? If insurance pays a portion (deductible) which insurance company do you use?
