I use my Symbicort in morning and at night and my Spiriva in the middle of the day. Dr. never said one way or the other but since I work it is easier to use Spiriva in the afternoon.

Spiriva is to relax the muscles that help one's lungs work. It is not a steroid. I take it first thing in the morning. I also use Dulera. As with Symbicort, a good mouth rinse is needed afterward to help minimize the chance of thrush (yeast infection in the mouth). So after the Spiriva I go about the morning chores, have breakfast then deal with the Dulera. If you happen to have dentures, remove them before using Symbicort! Then rinse/gargle with several mouthfuls of water. Afterwards I do my daily morning brushing of my teeth, fix my denture and go about my day. Before I go to bed I repeat my Dulera activities but put my denture in a denture cup overnight. As @A MyCOPDTeam Member said, do check with your doctor. Such fun stuff but I'm thankful for it!!!

If one uses an anti-static valved holding chamber (such as AeroChamber Plus) when inhaling the steroids (eg Symbicourt) it lowers the risk statistically by a long way of getting oral thrush. Still need to rinse afterwards though.
