Has anyone tried the drug Daxas. My husband is to replace Theo with it and see if it improves his shortness of breath

I am on my second day of Daliresp 500mg/daily (Dallas) and does a great job clearing mucus and phylum from my lungs to the point that I can breathe deeper. I have a mild headache and bowels are a a little loose but the trade off is definitely worth it.  Please note that have taken it for only 2 days so I'll report back in a couple of days.

I just googled DAXAS and although it is for severe case, there are a lot of after effects.  If you want further info google it your self.  Hope this has helped a little bit.

Saw my doctor and said it might be good for me and called in RX to pharmacy. Needs an authorization from my doctor to be sent to insurance.  I like that it treats the cause not the symptom of COPD

From what I've read Janet it looks like it's not instead of Theo but because you can't take both at the same time. Daxas is an anti-inflammatory drug whereas Theophylline is a long-acting bronchodilator. I have heard from several people including a pharmacist and another lung specialist that they do not see any improvement  with Daxas so I am concerned as he did get some relief from the Theo. We shall give it a short trial and see. Also it is not covered by our drug plan and is expensive. If it helps we would be willing to try it but if not he is to go back on the Theo.
