One of the medications I take is aminophylline (theophylline). My last inpatient stay was of three weeks duration and during this time my theophylline level went to a dangerously toxic level. They stopped my aminophylline treatment immediately for three days and then re-commenced me on a reduced dose. I was in hospital from 1 March 2017 to 22 March 2017. My question is does anybody else who is on aminophylline use inhalators.
so sorry i do not know nothing about aminophylline, have never heard of it all i take are spirva inhalalation capsules every 24 hours they are very good ,but my advice to you is you must try and give up smoking i know its hard but every day you do not have a ciggarette will be a bonus for your health sake .
Hi @Aminophylline, I'm on two inhalers but the one you mentioned I've not heard of before, but perhaps for the dose you were on was to much for body system could take hence you had a reaction to it and that's why they reduced it. I had the same thing with vitamin D and the hospital had to do the same thing to me. So hope they sorted for you. I'm thinking and praying for you. Hugs out to you. Paul
I'm sorry you had such a problem. My daughter was on aminophylline. While being in pediatric icu for asthma exacerbation. They overdosed her. We caught it in time and she was removed from that drug and back on albuterol inhaler and oral steroids. That was in the mid 80's, so much has changed since then. Be well.........
Hi @A MyCOPDTeam Member ... an inhalator is a small device, (similar to a cigarette holder). You place nicotine capsules into them and then use them as replacement cigarette, minus the chemicals. They are usually used in conjunction with Nicorette patches as an aid to smoking cessation.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member marieanne said inhalators not inhalers!!!!! People seem to get the two confused!!!!
