Dairy usually is hard on respiratory health.
If you can get used to almond, coconut, rice milk or cashew milk it's better.
I'm allergic to regular milk and they say that it is recommended we stay away from soy as well.
You might try lactaid, or mocha mix.
Allergies can be an issue.
You can add store brand instant breakfast to any of these for extra calories and flavors. Also real Greek yogurt adds calories with almost no flavor change.
Most folks find glucerna, ensure, boost etc yoo sweet. Breakfast drink less so.
Pasteurized eggs can add calories too. Raw could lead to salmonella.
Happy calories!
@A MyCOPDTeam Member I have to agree. I stay away from millk products as well as Colas. They are both entirely too thick and can cause you more trouble than it's worth. I stick to WATER, nectar of the Gods. Occasionally I will have a little Grape Juice or Cranberry Juice with a slice of orange, but I just can't handle the syrupy and thick drinks. Thus I am not taking any of the prescribed COPD medications. I have been able to go off all of them except the oxygen at night to help expel the Carbon Dioxide. Well Wishes to you. You might want to try some Coconut Milk or Cashew Milk...flavored or unflavored but without the sugar or thickness. Blessings.

There are snacks like almonds, pecans. Walnuts etc, unless you have allergies that have good oil and food value that might help with calories. Bananas too.

I had to gain weight as well. Ensure was the #1 .... Then I was told .. NOT to EAT ....foods that had just filled you up ..like sweets, junk foods, etc. EAT fresh fruit, vegetables .as snacks.. I used my Ensure on granola cereal and I loved it that way, as I am not a milk drinker. You can contat a dietician and she can guide you as to the correct foods to eat.
I find eating avacados are a good way to gain weight and they are healthy too!
