If you're looking for a substitute medication for Symbicort, Performist isn't it. Performist is only the LABA, and doesn't have the ICS that Symbicort does. If you're looking for a LABA/ICS combination, there's Advair. AirDuo, Dulera and Breo. If your doc wants to see if you can do without the ICS, Performist is a reasonable thing to try. If your doc doesn't realize that Performist doesn't have the ICS, you're in trouble. Ask. If your doc isn't a pulmo, you may want to find a good one because your doc clearly doesn't understand the COPD meds.

They're ALWAYS changing on you.... my doctor is always trying to change things up.... all you need to say is,,,,, I'm doing great with my meds that I have...why do you want to go screw it up???.
I'll tell you why they do that... they're taught to get those higher paid prescriptions. They don't want to fuss with the under 10$ scripts....

I have been Using Trelogy. An inhaler my Pulmonary told me they have been waiting for ten years. It is a combination of three meds COPD people need. It does work well for me and eliminated taking three inhalers. Ask you Doctor?

I changed insurance and it doesn't cover Symbicort either, been getting samples but they ran out, so she switched me to Bria, once a day with some samples, and it seems to be working. Altho sometimes need my respi click in between.

You can call your insurance company and ask them which medication they will approve since they won't cover Symbicort. My insurance stopped covering Symbicort, too. They suggested Advair instead.
