Is Inhaler The Same?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Have been using ProAir once a day and works well, now my insurance is switching me to a generic Albuterol Sulfate HFA--can anyone tell me if this will be the same as using ProAir?

Proair is a rescue inhaler; the main ingredient is albuterol, so the generic inhaler prescribed will be basically the same. Check with your doc or pharmacist to confirm.

My Dr. originally prescribed Ventolin but insurance would not cover it--went to Proair for 1 prescription, then forced to the generic that I mentioned.

I went from Proair to Ventolin and it worked the same for me. Ventolin is a sulfate HFA. Proair is a short term inhaler I can use mine every four hours as needed. I also use long term inhalers. I'm not sure how it will work for you everyone is different.
