Trellegy (sp ?) Inhaler
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor started me on a Trellegy Inhaler once in the morning when I was diagnosed. I'd be interested in other's experience with this drug.

Trelegy is a triple therapy in one; meaning that it includes a LAMA, a LABA and an ICS all in one inhaler and one dose. These medications are often given to people with COPD using a combination inhaler for the LABA and the ICS with the LAMA being a separate, individual inhaler. Your response to the medication will be individual and while other's responses will be interesting, they won't be informative for how you will respond. Each manufacturer uses different molecules to create their LABAs, LAMAs and ICS meds. When they combine them, they use their molecules and no one else's. If you don't respond well to one or more of the molecules used in the combination, that may mean that you won't have a good experience with the med. So the only way you can determine what sort of response you'll have is to actually try the med. Be sure to give it enough time to work, but if your breathing gets worse or your symptoms increase, talk with your doc about stopping it. The advantage to the triple therapy is that it's just one inhaler and one dose.

I have been on Trelegyfor about 4 years now. I've had only 2 flares. I seem to stay well with it better than anything else I've been on.

I have using it for more than a year and it has worked well but if your insurance doesn't cover it or have a high deductible it will pay to get it in Mexico for 60 dollars US over counter no prescription needed retail in US is over 700 dollars

I use Trelegy and it works really good for me. I am on oxygen 24/7 and use Trelegy in the morning and nothing else during the day. I haven’t had any issues with it other than the cost. I now have a decent drug plan so I don’t have to worry about it.
