Can Someone Please Tell Me How To Get Rid Of Mucus
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am waiting on results of a ct scan but saw my respiratory nurse last week and she said my shortness of breath is caused by mucus. Can someone please tell me what is the best way to get rid of it. Thank you all very much in advance 😊

To get rid of mucus you do breathing exercises. I do 3/4 a day. Taking Musinex also helps in softening the Muscus and makes it easier to bring up .

I use the generic form of Mucinex and also take a generic Sudafed too. Other than antibiotics or steroids, if needed per ur doctor, the Mucinex & Sudafed get me thru the mucus episodes. The Mucinex is probably the best part as it helps to expel the mucus when u cough it up. I'm not a doctor but this is what works best for me. Also be alert as to the humidity level that ur living/breathing in too.

You can buy a flutter device that helps to bring up the mucus. Check with you local pharmacy.

KLHarts; you're right. You don't need a prescription for saline solution, but you do for albuterol.......thanks for the clarification!
