Go to www.clinicaltrials.gov and you'll see where things are being tried. Just because it's on the site doesn't mean that the research is legitimate; it just means that they entered it in the site, so follow up at your own risk.
Any suggestiions on where I might research this Its the only op;[tion I have unless you know of any new treatments that my doctor doesn't
A lot of people have tried "stem cell therapy" from a number of for profit organizations across the country. None of these entities have developed peer-reviewed clinical data demonstrating any improvement in COPD. There's a lot of anecdotal information available, but nothing scientific and certainly nothing that can be replicated. Unless you're getting treatment from a research, scientific or university research institution, in my opinion it's modern day snake oil. They really want your money; treatments are from $10,000 to $25,000 and up, for no proven, lasting effect.
That said, most researchers and clinicians do believe that stem cells can play a major role in improving treatments and eventually leading to a cure for COPD, but we are very far from that now.
