Practice your kegels to try and keep from peeing yourself, @A MyCOPDTeam Member. Unfortunately, I find any tension or distress always brings on the need to pee. Take care of you.

What is the old meaning? lol
Oh Thank You for bringing this up! I thought it was just me
If you have a finger oxygen sensor, you will likely see BOTH the heart rate beating faster and the Oxygen levels are lower. These sensations are adjusted by the Central nervous system, much like pain and hunger.
The Brain does not produce or circulate Oxygen in our bodies. But it does monitor and direct the flow by making the heart beat faster and the lungs breathe deeper when it thinks we are smothering. Or scared. Like walking through a Halloween house and some one shouts "BOO". Even normal people just "Loose IT" - physically and mentally - and takes a bit of time to recover.
Focus on increased breathing routines well in advance of a task requiring you to "Get up and GO" 🏁 Even a puff from the inhaler may be enough to interrupt the signals triggering this process.
Take care.
Unfortunately, when you're short of breath and the brain is frantically sending 02 to the most important places to keep you alive, the bowel and bladder don't make the cut: bladder is lower on the totem pole than the bowel, so it tends to go first; but the bowel is often not far behind. Use your 02, or if you don't have it, get it! Otherwise this will continue to happen and unfortunately, the effect is cumulative.
