Well having clear or white phlegm is pretty normal. But each person is a little different. Although it should not be too thick, drinking more water will help to thin it some. Watch the color yellow, green, or blood in it the Dr will want to know.

That's pretty common. I only get concerned when the color changes to yellow or green. Then it's time to start antibiotics.
