Question, Does Anyone Else Here With COPD Have Circulation Issues And Have To Wear Compression Socks This Is All New To Me.

Was diagnosed with COPD and saw respiratory Doctor like once and they just never reschedule . I don't know what the deal is but lately my legs / veins have been really bad and the pain in my legs is so horrible and now they're saying I have poor circulation and maybe need vein stripped later down the road and I have to wear these compression socks.

Yesterday was a super bad day. Legs and even hips hurt so so bad. Had some awful painful sharp chest pains as well. Feels like my lungs are filling up again. J pray I'm not getting sick again. I have gotten sicker more often in the past year thanking my whole life. Ugh.

Yes, I see my vascular surgeon every 6 months also, so there's no big rush for me in my legs anyway; not so sure about the carotid arteries though, but I get them checked in a couple of weeks @A MyCOPDTeam Member. Wear a light scarf over your mouth and nose when you go out in the cold; your lungs need you to take care of them. I'm happy to hear that your legs aren't hurting as bad now that you are getting more exercise; that's great! Well you take care and keep up the good work!

Yeah my kiddos are really good about thinking of me and what would help me I get dizzy really easy if I get up too fast or turn too fast and lose my balance and I'll fall but I live in Iowa and our winners are brutal and I see and and I just can't seem to keep my balance on ice so they bought me those so that's nice yes they did tell me that I should see a very close vein surgeon but they said that it's not a rush thing and I could wait six months and come back and see if there any worse I'm finding what the exercise every day now my leg doesn't hurt near as bad it still hurts but not near as bad and breathing is no worse no better I feel like I'm getting sick again getting kind of wheezy again went outside for the first time in 2 weeks yesterday and the cold air just burnt my lungs hurt so bad so I hope I'm not getting the pneumonia back

So you do have SOME kidney disease @A MyCOPDTeam Member. Yes, that does sound strange that only one leg swells up, but maybe you should see a vascular surgeon. I have one that I will be seeing next month. He is who you would see for your varicose veins and carotid arteries. It wouldn't hurt to get them checked out either because you surely don't want to have a stroke! I had my right carotid artery cleaned out a few years ago, and I will find out next month how they are doing. If it was bad news I'm sure they would have contacted me by now.
I don't fall as a rule Tammy, but I was working at our church putting together some Thanksgiving meals for people to come and pick up. I turned around to grab a fresh pan of beans and slipped on some food that had spilled on the floor; I went down pretty hard.
The spikes on your shoes are a great idea! Good for your daughter!
You take care my friend!

Last I knew I was in mild kidney failure. I drink a ton of coffee and never water. Not good I know. S I could be retaining water but it's only my left leg. In 1999 I was in a horrible car accident where I shattered my femur And they replaced it with a rod. Have had trouble ever since . I got my first cortisone shot last August and it's been tolerable this long I figured if I only got one or two a year that would be okay as long as it took some of the pain away cuz I also know those cortisone shots damage your bones and muscle and they don't want that I just want the pain to be doable but it's getting to the point now I'll need another one here shortly but yeah I try to avoid the doctor like the plague it's kind of funny our family has this weird meth that if we don't see a doctor and aren't told that we have something we therefore don't have it LOL I know weird but I'm going to get better at it and I'm going to go have my annual check up with my family doctor and have a long talk about some of these things that are going on cuz I'm only 56 and I refuse to lay down and roll over I'm going to live life yet. Oh and I definitely understand the falls please stay on your feet my friend no more falling I'll do my best too close with winner it gets tough but my daughter bought me some spikes to go in my shoes so I don't fall as easy so stay upright my friend thanks again for your input and your wisdom I appreciate you
