Agreed! You are not supposed to wear them to bed and I do believe it is an 8 hour maximum amount of time. Ask your doctor or nurse what is best for you.

What should you do about severe nerve pain in your foot after compression socks rolled down during sleep?

This sounds like a painful situation that needs medical attention. When compression socks roll down, they can create a tight band that restricts blood flow and puts pressure on nerves, which could explain the severe pain you're experiencing.

Here are some immediate steps to consider:

- Remove the compression socks right away if you haven't already
- Elevate your foot to help with circulation
- Gently massage the affected area if it's not too painful
- Watch for signs like numbness, tingling, color changes, or worsening pain

Contact your doctor or healthcare provider as soon as possible to evaluate the nerve pain. They can determine if there's been any nerve damage and recommend appropriate treatment.

For future prevention, consider wearing compression socks that fit properly and stay in place, or talk to your doctor about whether you need to wear them while sleeping. Some people with COPD use compression socks to help with swelling in the legs and ankles, which can be related to the condition or medications like prednisone.

The nerve pain you're experiencing isn't typical of COPD itself, but getting it checked out is important for your overall health management.
