Learn pursed lip breathing and diaphragmatic breathing: that will help you breathe using the muscles in your diaphragm and chest instead of your shoulders.

You back and chest may be hurting because you've used those muscles to help you breathe. Often when we're having trouble, we use those muscles and if you really use them hard, they can get very sore. If you ever notice that your shoulders are almost touching your ears, that's a clear sign that you're using your shoulers to breathe. If you notice that try to lower them and to use your diaphragm to help you breathe.

I was just told by my drs that I have hyper inflated lungs The way I ease the pain is pursed lip breathing. My should are always up almost touching my ears. When the pain hurts so bad my anxiety goes into overdrive. It’s a Vicious cycle. Go to YouTube and search breathing exercises for COPD patients. They really do help
