@A MyCOPDTeam Member, I did have an almost suicidal reaction to a drug called Daliresp. It actually had a phenomenal, positive response to my COPD symptoms. After awhile I realized I was having very dark thoughts. Out of the blue when nothing bad had emerged in my life. I googled what I was experiencing and found a forum of people reporting similar reactions. I got off of it immediately and was fine. Good for you for responding and believing you know the source of your extreme depression. Are you still taking the med you think has caused it? There are so many different medicines to treat symptoms of COPD. One size does not fit all. There should be others you can try. When something doesn't seem right I search far and wide for answers. It is often others experiencing the exact same reaction I am. Try to at least hang out here and talk to people. Being alone is not good. Maybe you can find a virtual group you can hop in and just listen. Please stay in touch. Thinking of you.

Wow...keep it up! I can't walk across the house without running out of breath...and that's even with high flow oxygen 24/7.

Petelabadie, Your not going to get too many responses with this question. Especially using the "S" word. It makes you sound as if you're on the border of deciding. Out of fear of saying the wrong thing and setting you over the line, we/members don't want to say the one thing that makes you decide that was the needle that broke the camel back.

***If you ever need to talk call 988. There is always someone there to talk with.***

With that said, I have been there, I have called that number. I have had many friends call for help, in including two of my sons.
The important thing is you are reaching out for help! It is a tender subject and needs professional help. Do you have a doctor? Maybe the doctor can recommend a psychologist or therapist to talk with. Not that you need any medications or locked in the hospital, but someone to talk things out with. It helps.

We are all here and will let you vent and have someone to talk with. But our main topic is living with COPD. Depression is part of all diseases, but exercise and eating healthy helps. Even I have had to send my own sons to the doctors for the real help.

Call or text -- 988 ...it is free.
